Just like putting your fundraisers in the right venue at the right time we’ve now found exactly the right approach with our WhatsApp venue finder service.

It all started back in December last year when we launched our PAYGrow (Pay As You Grow) lastminute venue service, an idea we had to allow potential customers of ours to try out our service without committing to our rolling contract OVD (Outsourced Venues Department) service. We knew there was interest in this service but marketing it was a little trickier.

Setting Up Our WhatsApp Venue Finding Service

The first challenge we had was identifying the audience as you and your peers aren’t always easy to find! The majority of our Venue customers have come from referrals so when we tasked our desktop research team to build us a target list of prospects, the list was far smaller than expected. It turns out that your online presence isn’t as high as we thought it might be.

Once we had built our list online, we called you all to obtain an opt in permission for an e-shot as this was the obvious choice for a sales broadcast that involved specific information (venues) but this didn’t get any traction either….turns out most of you are ‘out of the office’ or just too busy to look at and read marketing emails.

The next step for us was to try and call you as we have an experienced team of cold callers from our original business Virtual Sales Team , nope, that didn’t work either!

A little baffled, we suddenly realised that many of our existing clients communicate with us and each other on WhatsApp – that must be the channel to get last minute venues to the people that need them in timely and ultra targeted fashion…..and yes bingo! It worked within the first hour of the first broadcast back in April, we helped 3 of your peers out with last minute venues for the following week, and this trend has continued since.

The Future Of Our WhatsApp Venue Finder Service

As the service evolves and demand increases we’re evolving with it and creating 2 broadcasts per week, Monday is now for last minute venues within the next 2 weeks and the Wednesday broadcast is weeks 3 -8 in the future, which also means the price is significantly lower too – we call it the budget airline pricing model. We’re also adding a VIP membership for customers that have had 4 or more successful bookings (we need good feedback from our stores) and want to continue booking but aren’t ready for our OVD model.
