Capitalising on the substantial growth experienced post-pandemic, the VST Group made the strategic decision to relocate the business. As of 23rd June 2022, VST’s new home is a spacious 1250 sq ft barn office, located in the picturesque surroundings of Pury Hill Business Park, residing just outside of Towcester.
This relocation comes off the back of a challenging trading period during the COVID-19 pandemic that significantly impacted the company, amongst many others. Andrew Smart, Solutions Director and founder of VST, candidly acknowledges the toll the pandemic took on their business, “COVID-19 had a profound impact on our operations. Many of our clients had to halt their marketing and sales efforts during that time of immense uncertainty.”
“Although it was undoubtedly a stressful and concerning period, it gave us the opportunity to reevaluate our structure and develop a fresh business strategy along with an exciting product lineup,” Smart continued. “We introduced new services, such as LinkedIn Outreach Market Research, Database Research and Qualifications Teams, a new Cloud-based CRM system, and various other digital services. These are designed to enhance the quality and quantity of sales opportunities we create for our clients, providing them with full transparency regarding our activities and their return on investment, as well as deeper insights into their prospects’ preferences and thoughts.”
VST have re-emerged stronger than before, expanding its pre-pandemic workforce to 37 employees. We also embraced a new workspace to support the now-proven hybrid work model – one that could bring the team together and welcome clients – by conducting a “happiness and wellbeing” survey among staff to find the perfect working space. It generated a set of criteria that included green spaces, ample parking, electric vehicle charging stations, and proximity to gyms and restaurants for breaks.
“The search for our new office location proved to be quite the challenge,” Andrew Smart noted. “We needed a location that could reignite our employees’ excitement for going to work on the days they come to the office, in an environment that promotes collaboration and creativity. At Pury Hill, we have access to nature walks, a gym, a café, and a stunning setting. The team absolutely adores our new home and believes we’ve exceeded their expectations.”
“Being within 10 minutes of Milton Keynes but still rooted in Northampton also expands our reach across the border when it comes to attracting and recruiting talented staff in the future,” Andrew added.
Louise Howson, newly appointed Managing Director of the VST Group and VST Venues, sees this move as the inception of a new chapter for the company. “We’re labelling it VST 2.0 internally. The name ‘Virtual Sales Team’ is more relevant than when we first established in 2007. Our fundamental mission remains ‘introducing our clients to their next customer,’ but we aim to be innovative in how we achieve that goal, continuously exploring new products, processes, and services to deliver on it.”
“People couldn’t help but notice when the sign came down from our previous office, given its prominent location on Bedford Road. We want to convey to everyone that we’ve not only bounced back but have become bigger, better, and more efficient than ever before. We’re committed to maintaining this momentum and building upon it.”
